Notes:
* New data anticipated for 2007, expected date of release unknown at time this table compiled. (Feb. 2007)
A) Adjustment/Water Body Change (?)
B) Commodity information is not released by USDA when it represents a single producer to prevent revealing confidential information. So, if an item is not listed, it is not a valid conclusion that that commodity is not produced in Utah.
C) Other = Sugar and tropical products, minor oilseeds, essential oils, beverages other than juice, nursery and greenhouse, wine, and misc. vegetable products.
D) Certified Organic Acreage: Note that USDA National Organic Program implemented in October, 2002. USDA AMS (4) lists 33,530 Certified Organic acres for 2001, and USDA ERS (2) lists 3,738 Certified Organic acres for 2002. Further research needed to determine if this significant acreage reduction is due to more stringent rules regarding organic certification.
E) Items in this row, for the year 1997, combine two value categories, the resulting percentage changes add the previous value category in calculating percentage change. (1997 data from USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service: Census, US – State Data (Utah) Table 1. Historical Highlights. (5))
