February 6 - Selecting and Starting your Heirloom Seed Varieties

With hundreds of heirloom varieties to choose from, and seed catalogs arriving in the mail daily it's time to stop being overwhelmed and start choosing seeds that are not only well suited for our climate, strong producers but delicious too.
Once we have discussed what seeds to choose and why, we will give an overview of seed starting and tell you what to start and when.

An Annual Fundraiser for the Moab Youth Garden Project

Come down the rabbit hole into a Wonderland feast of delicious chocolate creations! Cavort with crazy creatures and community members while supporting the Youth Garden Project at the Chocolate Lovers' Fling. Great silent auction items, fun activities for children, and
of course lots and lots of Chocolate!
Buy advance discount tickets at WabiSabi until Friday (2/5/10).
Price at door: Adults $10, Youth under eighteen $5, and children two and under free.
Wonderland characters get $1 off admission.

February 11 - Quarterly Slow Food Utah Membership Meeting

Slow Food Utah quarterly membership meetings are open to all who are interested in Slow Food in Utah, you do not have to be a member to attend. It is simply the time for all to come together on a regular basis to discuss and plan.
Please e-mail Slow Food Utah Leader to add your name and email address to our notification list, or to confirm the time and place of the next membership meeting.
All who are interested in learning more about Slow Food Utah and who have an interest in becoming involved are invited to attend the "membership meetings."

Come learn the basics of organic gardening with Wasatch Community Gardens, we will be covering basic soil health and amending, compost,natural pest control, crop diversity, what to plant when and more. Look for Intermediate and Advanced topics in March and April.

Downtown Farmer’s Market, People’s Market, and The University of Utah Farmer’s Markets will be represented, don’t miss this unique opportunity! Co-sponsored by the Salt Lake City Public Library.
