PHOTO GALLERY – SLOW FOOD UTAH

Photos from Slow Food Utah events, and events that Slow Food Utah has participated in.
  • Brief write–up and photos of indoor garden at Riley Elementary School in Salt Lake City.
  • The Slow Food Utah Schoolyard Garden, a window into gardening for students at Salt Lake’s Riley Elementary School. The Garden has outdoor and indoor components. This is the indoor component and part of a "First grade Inquiry Activity" addressing the question: "Is it possible to grow food indoors?"

  • Rockhill Creamery Tour – October 15, 2006
  • A group of Friends of Slow Food Utah traveled to Cache Valley October 15th for a tour of the Rockhill Creamery. Dinner followed our tour and we had a delightful dinner outside. Dinner was prepared by Tim and Tammy Vitale, Graham Hunter, and Debby Bronson. The sumptuous spread included an array of appetizers, main courses, and sides...with Rockhill Cheese used as key ingredients. Click the link above to see the photos and read a "short story" from Tim Vitale.
  • Schoolyard Garden – "Building the Boxes" — September 9, 2006
  • Riley Elementary School, in the Salt Lake City School District.
  • Students, Parents, Teachers, Staff and Slow Food Volunteers met Saturday morning bright-and-early to build the garden-boxes that will be the corner-stone of the Schoolyard Garden. The Schoolyard Garden will be a window into gardening for students in grades 1 through 6 at Salt Lake’s Riley Elementary School. The project has been received warmly by many at the school, and many students are exited to what it grow.
  • This project is supported by all who attended the Second Annual "Feast of Five Senses" fundraising dinner that Slow Food Utah organized, and Pine American Restaurant hosted Sunday, May 21, 2006. Thank you to all who volunteered and contributed. A great beginning, but only a beginning, as there is more to be done.
